Unity believes that Spiritual Baptism/Christening signifies the inflowing of the Holy Spirit within an individual. The ceremony is designed to honor the Christ Nature within the individual and bless them as beloved children of God. Memorial Services
Unity Church of Overland Park is here to lovingly support you during times of sorrow and loss. We emphasize the eternal life of the spirit. If you would like to discuss or arrange to have a memorial service for a loved one who has passed on, please contact Julie Randolph, Director of Worship and Volunteers at 913.649.1750 ext. 3025.
Extended Care Team
Our Extended Care Team is available to offer monthly visits to those in our spiritual family who can no longer attend our Sunday celebration services in person. Members of the team offer monthly visits to congregants that focus on offering a time of loving connection, prayer and fellowship. Hospital Calls and/or Visits
Our ministers and prayer chaplains are available to visit with you during times of hospitalization. If you would like a phone call or a visit while in the hospital, please contact Rev. Eileen Stulak, Associate Minister, Congregational Care and Ministry Programs at 913.649.1750, ext. 3056.
Bereavement
We have a bereavement program available to support you when you experience the loss of a loved one. You will receive monthly letters of prayer support for a period of thirteen months following your loss. If you would like more information about this service, please contact Rev. Spiritual Counseling
Our Spiritual Counseling Team and the services it offers are based upon a foundation of prayer and a commitment to the spiritual principles contained in Unity’s teachings. In keeping with these principles, we honor the presence of the Christ within all people. We are committed to creating a safe and loving environment in order to foster and nurture the personal, emotional and spiritual growth and development in those we serve.
We believe that the Christ Nature within each individual provides the potential for the guidance, understanding and answers we seek. Our trained spiritual counselors are dedicated to assisting each person with bringing forth into expression the unlimited potential that exists within them.
Craig McAndrew, MA, LPC, CSAC I, CADC I - Craig is a Licensed
Professional Counselor in Missouri, as well as a Certified Addictions Counselor in both Kansas and Missouri. He works with adults and teens from 14 years of age. Craig’s areas of specialization include grief and loss, relationships, anxiety and depression, stress reduction and anger management. He has been in the field of counseling since 1996. Karen Harrison, Ed.S. - Karen K. Harrison is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Certified Sex Therapist. She works with couples, families, children, teens, and individuals. She specializes in working with couples with sexual issues. Additionally, she may incorporate Reiki – energy healing – into her work. Karen has been on the Spiritual Counseling team at Unity Church of Overland Park since 1994. Contact: 816.523.4440, ext. 2
Rev. Eileen Stulak - Rev. Eileen serves as an Associate Minister on our staff at Unity Church of Overland Park. She offers spiritual counseling in areas of spiritual direction and practices, prayer support and guidance pertaining to Unity principles and their application in everyday life experiences. Getting Started
If you would like to receive support from a member of our Spiritual Counseling team, please contact them at the phone numbers provided. There is no requirement of membership in Unity Church of Overland Park. However, as a part of the commitment to the spiritual counseling relationship, attendance at the Sunday worship services is encouraged.
Sessions are offered on a love offering basis – up to a maximum of 3 sessions. If more than 3 sessions are desired, mutually agreeable arrangements will be decided upon between you and the spiritual counselor.
