In 2004, Rev. Patricia Bass joined Unity Church of Overland Park (UCOP) as Senior Minister. Since then, the ministry has begun many new programs to serve the thriving and diverse ministry, including our popular Sunday morning children’s program called M&M (Music and Meditation) and the creation of several leadership and ministry teams.
Before joining UCOP, Rev. Patricia was the Senior Associate Minister for Unity of Christianity in Houston, one of the largest Unity churches in the country. In her 11 years there, she served in a number of capacities, including managing the Youth Ministry staff, recruiting and training over 500 volunteers and directing a building program that raised more than $6 million to erect a new sanctuary.
Rev. Patricia was ordained a Unity Minister in 1998 after receiving an honors scholarship for her ministerial consciousness. She holds a M.A. in Interpersonal Communication, a B.A. in Journalism and a B.S. with highest honors in Speech Communication.
Prior to becoming a minister, Rev. Patricia worked in the banking industry, managing a statewide network of 65 banks. Her responsibilities covered marketing, training, customer service and account growth. She managed a staff of more than 300 and a multi-million dollar budget.
Rev. Patricia is an adjunct faculty member of Unity Institute, a member of the Advisory Council for the Association of Global New thought and a member of the Visioning Design Team, which supports the leadership of our Unity movement.
Rev. Patricia brings to UCOP a unique blend of management expertise, exceptional speaking skills, strong interpersonal sensitivity and a deep and committed spiritual consciousness. In partnership with this committed and prayer-centered ministry, her vision is to ignite and inspire the authentic expression of the Christ in every person and be in loving service to our community and our world.
Rev. Patricia and husband Brian have two grown daughters and live in Olathe.
