Community Sunday

"Wear Comfortable Shoes"
Community Sunday, December 31
10 am in the Sanctuary
with guest speaker, Debra Baker
Guest speaker, Debra Baker, will lead us in closing out 2017 with her talk "Wear Comfortable Shoes." When Spirit nudged Debra to speak, she was also given the talk title. And as often happens with spirit-led "discussions," truth then began to reveal itself to her as the content: Recognizing ourselves as infinite spirits having brief human experiences can be life altering. Once we truly understand and know, at our deepest level, who we really are -- God expressing -- we are free to create our lives in countless ways. The process of 'coming to know' evolves in stages. Similar to the knowledge of how to ride a bike isn't the same as getting on and pedaling it, intellectually grasping who we are is not the same as deeply knowing. Debra will outline the process, starting first with the meditation, continuing with the lesson, and concluding with the final blessing. And how this relates to comfortable shoes? Well, you'll just have to come to the service to find out!
And following that service, at 11am in Harmony Hall, join together with your UCOP family to celebrate "Midnight in Tokyo" New Year's Eve Potluck Celebration! There will be noisemakers, funny hats, and fun!
