Inclusiveness in an Unequal World
Wednesday, March 21 & 28, 2018
6:30 to 8:30 pm
with Shirley Hill
Inclusiveness is a core UCOP value. It affirms our desire to see beyond our differences and acknowledge the Christ presence in every person, but also recognizes the difficulties we often face in doing so. Social inequality is one of the major difficulties. This class will focus on the history and consequences of persistent social inequalities, especially those based on social class, gender/sex, and race-ethnicity, and the fear and polarization that emerge as we try to challenge those inequalities. The goal of the class is to create a space for constructive dialogue about the link between social inequalities and how we can move toward a more just society.
This is a two week class meeting on Wednesdays March 21st & 28th from 6:30-8:30. If you miss the first class you are welcome to attend the second.
